“We Are Family”

I was born into a family of four older siblings, ages 12, 11, 9 and 7. I am quite the caboose in the Ron & Audrey Arneberg Clan. Because of my age disparity with my older siblings, it was like having six parents growing up! Of course, no one trumped my parents’ authority or overall influence, but there was something special about the influence of an older brother or sister. To this day, I can readily attribute (at least in part) any one of my hobbies, passions, beliefs and choices to the influence, guidance and direction offered to me by my siblings.

It is in this spirit that I lead the JUGHEADS Youth Juggling Company. When interviewed for the WISE GUYS Supervisor (Manager) in 1992, I stated that “every kid needs someone outside of their parents to look to for influence and guidance.” Such a person could be a coach, an older sibling, a teacher, a youth pastor, a family friend, an uncle/aunt, or a celebrity. In my case, I try to be a little of all of these to the kids in order to pass on the blessings of my own childhood. That I see many of my older jugglers passing on that same blessing to their younger siblings becomes a blessing in full circle.
