“Time and Time Again”

I thought that a fitting way to give closure to this year's Juggle Jam (the climax of our juggling year) was to reprint the lyrics to the second song of the slide show. It is written and performed by Ken Medema, a contemporary Christian musician (who happens to be blind) and has had an impact on Paul's own performance career. In some small way, these words seem to capture the quality and variety of meaningful friendships among the kids, parents and leaders of the JUGHEADS Youth Juggling Company.

I will walk in the sun with you and
I will stand in the rain
I will be with you when it's time to cry
I'll be glad when you are glad and
I'll be there in your pain
I will be with you when you wonder why

Some friendships blast like a rocket and then they fade away
Some friendships last for an hour and some for just a day I don't know how to name this friendship and I won't even try
All I know is you need this connection and so do I
So do I

CHORUS
Bound together Like sound and music
Like sky and morning
Like flowers and rain
Down the years on a thousand highways
We'll find each other time and time again

I will tell you my secret name--one that nobody knows
I will be with you when you're all alone
I will follow the path of friendship wherever it goes
I will learn when to leave you on your own
Some friendships sparkle like diamonds and then they turn to dust
Some people just keep trying so hard and never do learn to trust
I don't know what to say to you...I don't know what to do
All I know is I need this connection and so do you
So do you

CHORUS
I will walk in the sun with you.

Thankful for this connection (more than the applause), Paul Arneberg
