“A Rudy of a Program”

Anybody who knows me or has seen a juggling show since 1996 knows that the film Rudy (1993) has a special place in my heart. A young man from the Chicago area has little money, low athletic talent and under-average smarts, yet he wants to play football for Notre Dame. I love the movie's raw determination shown in the title character, but I equally love the support shown to him by people like his childhood friend, his priest, his tutor, his boss, his coaches, his teammates, his God and his family.

JUGHEADS is similar to the character of Rudy. This program has achieved widespread respect among both the juggling and youth-related communities through the raw determination of the jugglers and the Arnebergs, combined with the support shown us by you parents, Edina Community Education, the International Jugglers' Association, the school district, extended families, Todd Smith Products, anonymous benefactors, WISE GUYS, and personal friends. Most importantly, there is no earthly reason for our success, and so I give God the glory for taking a less-than-coordinated speech major from the U of M and creating this haven for youth through two virtuous qualities: determination and external support. Add to that the faith that this program is about more than juggling and hope that it will bear eternal fruit of changed lives, and this is a special program indeed.
