“Struggles and Goals”

Life, when lived fully, is rife with struggles. No one is exempt. Unfortunately, the word “struggle” often gets a bad rap, as if it’s only negative or only harmful. On the contrary, struggling often produces good character and rewards. It is a curious thing that in order to get in shape, we must break down our muscles so that they may be built up again, stronger. In order to progress at an instrument or a juggling skill, many bad notes and frustrating drops must occur. In order for any job, relationship, or era of life to blossom, we must struggle through the challenges in order to get to the rewards. And ideally, once we’ve mastered how to handle certain struggles, they become insignificant compared with the goal of our struggle.

Some struggles may seem inherently evil, but they embody the very process by which we attain success, making our accomplishment that much more sweet. Whether building character, muscles, skills or friendships, I invite the Jugheads to struggle with me toward the goal of sweet rewards immeasurable.
