"The Team Effort of the Year"

There are several aspects of the JUGHEADS Youth Juggling Company that cannot be done without a significant amount of good ol’ fashioned grassroots volunteering on the part of parents of kids in the program. A prime example is our annual trip to the IJA Festival: I couldn’t lead it with a chaperone-to-Jughead ratio of about 3:1. Even more than our IJA trip, the annual Juggle Jam is many times over the volunteer experience of the year, requiring an incalculable amount of hours of involvement in order to pull it off successfully. Two dads hung lights on Good Friday. A dozen parents have met monthly since January. Three parents took pictures of all the Jugheads for the slide show. Concessions shopping, audition judging, costume making, publicizing, sound tweaking, Jughead supervising, rehearsal prioritizing, set designing...it will all pay off on April 30 and May 1.

Wendy and I thank you volunteers in advance, for your kids’ development and our joy. Keep recruiting an audience! Meanwhile, the kids and I are increasingly enjoying the rehearsal process, which equals the show itself as a tool for developing these youth through juggling.
