"Mission: Multiplex "

A juggling "multiplex" is the throwing of more than one object at a time from one hand. Such a trick takes many forms, giving new life and look to a juggling pattern by simply throwing multiple objects simultaneously rather than individually. The essence of JH is a picture of multiplexing. Although our motto is simple ("Developing Youth Through Juggling"), it barely scratches the surface of what JH can mean to each individual youth. Some kids come primarily for the friendships, some for the technical skills, some for the annual show, some for the trips, some for the snacks and general atmosphere of fun and acceptance...all come for some combination of reasons.

At any given time, a Jughead could be learning both competition and teamwork; both individual success and group belonging; both strong leadership and humble following; both long-term goal-setting and daily realization of goals; both public manners and private virtues-and those paradoxical "multiplexes" still barely scratch the surface of the JH mission. Juggle Jam is a two-hour window into our motto. It's a show that requires much prep. and professionalism, but it wouldn't be nearly as meaningful if the kids were merely entertaining the crowds without a substance of character behind each trick and bow. More than Juggle Jam itself, I am grateful for what it represents: daily, consistently development of youth. Juggling is the tool. Changed lives are the result.
