"A Rudy of A Show"

Every year, our slide show music begins with the Main Title to the film Rudy (1993). In addition to the beauty of the music composed by the late Jerry Goldsmith (who died last year), the theme represents one of the core values of JUGHEADS. In the film, Daniel E. "Rudy" Ruettiger has an unrealistic quest to play football at the University of Notre Dame. Along the way, Rudy is buoyed by many supporters-and challenged by many critics. In the end, he affects others at least as much as he is affected by them (supporters and critics alike).

So it is with the Jugheads performing in our annual juggling show. Crowds (with family as the core) come to support them, coaches and mentors guide them, but the Jugheads end up inspiring the audience in unexpected ways. What a wonderful cycle of community! It's been this way since our very humble first show in 1995 and my introduction of the Rudy theme in 1996. This year marks the end of an era performing in the Edina Community Center Auditorium. As a tribute to this era, and our small company with big dreams, the entire slide show will be set to music from Rudy. It will be a night celebrating mutual inspiration.
