JUGHEADS

[Back to Paul's Platform main selection page] March 2006 "JUGHEADS
Comes of Age"
Our first three-ever Jughead high school seniors are turning 18: Lauren, Kelsey Harr, and Jill. (Our youngest "birthday girl" this month, Juliana, was born the same year that Kelsey began juggling!) These three soon-to-be high school graduates will be the first-ever kids to never drop out of JH. They'll graduate as Jugheads, and more: pioneers, role models, inspirations, young adults with a consistent anchor reaching all the way back to grade 4 (Kelsey) or 5 (Jill and Lauren). As the company ages, so will its veterans, its alumni, and its founder. Before long, if God wills, I could be older than the average JH parent! I'm under no illusions: I can't necessarily measure the depth of a relationship by the quantity of years. I still have occasional contact with several former Jugheads, both in high school and in college. Many of them dropped out before we had such a momentum of roster retention, varsity lettering incentive, a developed assistant and officer program, and other marks of a maturing organization. Nonetheless,
there comes a special personal and corporate satisfaction in knowing that
JH is a worthy priority that can span the high school years. Reaching
graduation as a Jughead may be like the odds of a Boy Scout reaching the
rank of Eagle: 1 in 100. However, the values received and given by such
Jugheads will leave a legacy that will last a lifetime. Congratulations
to these young ladies who began juggling as young girls.
